A native of Watertown, NY, he was a son of the late Donald Roy and Betty Mae Merriam Fowler. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Air Force. Mr. Fowler was currently employed with Athens BMW and enjoyed golfing and running.Obit from Lord and Stephens Funeral Homes
Memorial services will be Monday, March 28, 2011, at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST with Rev. Sheila Bookout officiating.
Survivors include his wife of forty-two years, Judy K. Fowler; son, Matthew Fowler of Athens; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Matthew Knisely of Cumming, GA; two brothers, Donald Bruce Fowler of Fulton, NY and Terry Fowler of Port Orchard, WA; sister, Linda Rigabar of Sackets Harbor, NY; numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Fowler was affectionately known as “Poppy” to his two granddaughters, McRae and Alaini.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 until 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
