Influence Peddling

Libya has been buying influence for decades. From vain intellectuals whores to undeclared lobbyists unearthed by the Sunlight Foundation.

Then there are those British nabobs with whom son Saif regularly wines and dines. (Anyone who "gets along famously" with the creepy Peter Mandelson ought to be considered somewhat tainted just by that association alone.) Saif, by the way, is the same Saif who told protesters to clear the streets or face rivers of blood. The source is the BBC, no impartial source on any story, but independently verified in other publications.

Since that spectacular speech, even London School of Economics director Sir Howard Davies, admitted he felt ''embarrassed'' about the university's ties with the family of Libyan dictator Colonel Muammar Gaddafi. They are investigating Saif's PhD thesis.

Another son was less successful in his chosen field.

The lunatic Muammar Gaddafi became best friends with Tony Blair, a relationship the new Prime Minister David Cameron said was "too close." The relationship continued after the self-avowed Socialist Blair left office. 1

The happy relationship continued under Gordon Brown with the release of the Lockerbie bomber under "compassionate grounds." (He's still alive nearly two years later.) Even the state of California, some could argue was more socialist than Gordon Brown, couldn't bring themselves to give such a deal to Manson family member Susan Atkins as she really was dying.
